As someone with experience on both sides of the interview process, I would like to share six essential considerations that can enhance inclusivity and ensure that queer candidates are valued for their skills and abilities, independent of their gender identity or background. By implementing these points, we can create a more welcoming and open-minded recruitment process that embraces the richness of diversity within the workplace. Let's explore these must-do guidelines, building bridges of understanding and promoting a culture of acceptance and respect.


  1. Acknowledge Year Gaps: It's essential to understand that year gaps in a queer person's work history may not reflect a lack of commitment but rather a result of limited opportunities and support. Some queer individuals may have faced challenges in finding accepting workplaces or accessing the same opportunities as their non-queer counterparts.   2. Offer Constructive Feedback: After conducting an interview with a queer candidate, it's crucial not to simply ghost them afterward.
